Gerald Shapiro, BA, Paralegal
Gerald Shapiro is a founder of Shapiro Halpern Law Criminal Law & Traffic Offences Toronto. He graduated from Concordia University with a BA in Sociology and Criminology, and later earned his Paralegal Diploma at Seneca College in Toronto. Gerald has earned an excellent reputation for his service and expertise. In addition to providing legal services, he is a lecturer at the Faculty of Continuing Education at Seneca College in the department of International Business.
Jenna Little, MBA, Paralegal
Jenna has been a paralegal since graduating from Humber College in 2004. She was grandfathered into the Law Society of Ontario in 2008, and then completed her BA in Psychology. She then went on to obtain an MBA in Innovation Leadership from the University of Fredericton in 2018.She loves arguing appeals, writing facta, and doing legal research. She also has a passion for mentoring and teaching others, and doing volunteer work. She currently volunteers with the St. Andrew’s Society of Toronto.
Kaitlyn Dumais, BA, Paralegal
Kaitlyn completed her Honours BA at the University of Toronto, studying Religion, Society and Ethics, and graduated with distinction in 2010. She went on to pursue paralegal studies, graduated with high honours and was licensed as a paralegal in 2013. She has worked mainly in criminal law and provincial offences throughout her career. Kaitlyn is passionate about issues arising in the intersection of mental health, ethics and the law.

Traffic tickets – from speeding to careless driving to disobeying a stop sign – can result in demerit points, licence suspensions, hefty fines and even jail time. On top of that, they can dramatically raise your insurance rates or make you uninsurable.

This ticket is given when the officer believes that you were not paying proper attention to the road, or giving proper consideration to others on the road.
This ticket is usually given when the officer believes that you were driving 40km or more, where the speed limit is under 80km, or that you were driving 50km or more where the speed limit is above 80km.
This ticket is usually given when the officer believes that you were using your phone in some way, either by touching it, or by texting or calling someone. It can even include eating behind the wheel!
This ticket is usually given when the officer believes that you do not have valid insurance. This is not to be confused with simply not having your insurance card with you.
This ticket is usually given when the officer believes that you were driving at a speed in excess of the speed limit.
